Ninja Turtle Ornaments

Ninja Turtles Christmas Ornaments

When J was 4, he loved ninja turtles. So the first ever handmade Christmas ornaments that we made were these little guys. They are super easy and he was able to help. The hardest part was actually taking off the thing that was attached to the ornaments before. I couldn’t find a simple one in the right color of green, so I had to get one with a different design that I had to take off. Continue reading “Ninja Turtles Christmas Ornaments”

Minecraft Skeleton Kids Halloween Costume

Minecraft Skeleton Kids Halloween Costume

A couple of years ago, J was obsessed with Minecraft. He still plays it now, but not as often as his other favorite games, such as Terraria. But when he was younger, he spent all his computer time in Minecraft. So I wasn’t surprised when he said he wanted to be a Minecraft skeleton for Halloween that year. I couldn’t find a good costume to buy, so I set out to make it myself. Continue reading “Minecraft Skeleton Kids Halloween Costume”

Earth Day Play Date Invite

Earth Day Play Date Invite (Printable)

It’s that time of the year again! When the weather is getting warmer and it’s time to celebrate the planet that gives us life, it’s also a great time to get the kids together for some play time.

A few years ago, I came across some dirt and plant themed food like mud cake with jello worms and chocolate cupcakes with green grass frosting, and I thought it would be great to make for J. But it seemed like it would be too much for just him, so I thought it would be a cool idea to invite some of his friends on a play date. A themed play date. An Earth Day play date.

Friendasaurus Clay Valentines for Kids

Friendasaurus Clay Valentines for Kids

As you know, I don’t like my kids adding to the candy rush on Valentine’s Day, so I keep thinking of creative ways to do valentines for the kids that don’t involve sugary sweets and boring superhero cards that are thrown away.

For all the kids that love dinosaurs, this will be really fun to make, as well as hand out on Valentine’s Day. When we did this, my son was obsessed, so he had a blast. I found adorable free Friendasaurus printables from Alice & Lois, but instead of buying plastic dinosaurs, we decided to make our own out of clay.

Valentines for Preschool Kids

Valentines for Preschool Kids

This year, J’s teachers asked every parent to bring in Valentine’s Day gifts for all the kids in his class. They also asked for shoe boxes to use as mailboxes, and they were going to do a valentines exchange by putting the gifts into the mailboxes. I knew what this meant: candy overload. I wasn’t going to leave my kid without gifts to give to his classmates, but I was strongly against giving them even more candy than they were going to get. I also didn’t want to make this an expensive trip to the store. Continue reading “Valentines for Preschool Kids”

Elimination Communication and Cloth Diapers

Elimination Communication and Cloth Diapers

I recently commented on a post regarding advice for new parents that I would like to expand upon, along with some reviews. I know everyone and their grandmother out there is writing about cloth diapers, but I would like to share my experience with cloth diapers that is also paired with the practice of Elimination Communication (EC), Natural Infant Hygiene, or whatever else people call it these days.
